Against the background of the controversy about “forced adoptions”, adoption quotas being used by social services departments, as well as the allegedly secretive and underhand conduct of the family courts a new website has appeared.

www.childprotectionresource.org.uk

The website is contributed to by all the characters that are involved in child protection proceedings at all stages. It includes contributions from lawyers, social workers, foster carers and, more importantly children and parents involved in proceedings. It covers issues over children in need who have not yet been made the subject of legal action as well as those that are already in care proceedings.

The website seeks to present a balanced and accurate view of the kind of issues that will surround children and parents. It provides a useful offset to the websites of parents’ support groups and pressure groups who may well wish to flog their agenda or their particular perspective on child protection work. For professionals and lay people alike the site has good and easy to follow links to other websites and resources which provide clear information about the issues at hand.
